Testing and worrying will never stop even now with FTTP

My full fibre got load of packet loss now and slow speed tonight. Very very disappointed. 15.4ms packet loss slow speed this evening 578Mbps instead of 930Mbps. Just awful.  :(

My G.fast never get any slow speed over the last 12 months with Cerberus. Same with Aquiss FTTC. Very strange as it shouldn't be on full fibre. Rather annoyed now.

578Mbps "just awful"

Still like 10 times faster or even more than a lot of folks out there.

More details please, over WiFi or wired, what were you doing when this happened, how many devices were online, was any games consoles downloading game updates?

I quite agree. Looking at the BQM you posted, I'd say you need a new ISP.

How? Its a shared service, at peak times if others have 900mb's and they are really pushing it you will share the cap on the PON.

Where did this idea come that FTTP is 1GB all time everytime come from?!?

You said FTTP would be different, you wouldnt monitor or obsess over stats but here we are and you are complaining about 600mbps being wrong rather than just getting on with things.

Just stop for a week and see if you actually notice anything like you promised.

Oh it's just awful... and I consider myself extremely lucky to have an 80/20 FTTC connection.  I cant recall the last time I looked at stats... and even longer since I did a speedtest.

Max it is a shared service.  Just like all the other connections you have had.   Some poor soul will at some point have to share and put up with the thousands of speedtests that you do which will likely affect them.
Its not a private line, if you want a connection that is purely uncontended then be prepared to pay a heck of a lot of money for it.

This is getting ridiculous.  I may sort the thread later and clear out all the dross.   But for now Im calling time.
If you have a real problem then by all means start a new thread, but moaning about a few Mbps is not on.

Also you all know what Max is like and how easy it to get him worried about minor stuff.  I hinted the other day about going down rabbit holes,  I don't want anyone dangling carrots either.

Thank you.
