Well, Chaz, you are at rest now.
No more pain or discomfort, no more loss of self esteem at not being able to look after yourself.
You have you dignity back, and can go to sleep knowing that you were a loved and respected member of the family.
Your human pets loved you so much, and did everything in their power to look after you in your last weeks. Medicines, vet
treatments, interacting with you, helping you all the while about your businesses.
Alas, the end comes to us all and your inevitable passing was made easier for you by the love of Kitz who held you, and
cuddled you and loved you to the end.
Your passing is and was not so easy or comfortable for Kitz.
Not only has she lost a cherished member of her family, but she had to have the courage to decide that your life was at an
end and that to prolong it would be to only cause you more suffering and indignity.
What a terrible decision she had to make for you, Chaz............you had loved her and given her your loyalty over the years
and she had to decide that your time had come.
However justified was that decision, and it was justified, it was a terrible one to have to make........in fact Kitz had to
commit the last great betrayal...........to ask for you to be put to sleep. The trauma of that will be as hard to bear as the
loss of you.
Kitz now has only memories of you, Chas............memories that she will cherish for a long time. She will always see you
curled up on the desk having a snooze. The pain of your passing will ease after a while, but the memories wont.....and
memories are bestowed only on that which we have loved and lost.
Sleep softly, Chaz.
