I'm curious why you're running availability checks if you have no interest in taking the service?
Most telecoms sites have it in written on their availability checker page that they may contact you if you make enquiries on their site.
The guys only doing his job at the end of the day.
He probably has people slamming doors in his face all day long.
If you've enquired about the service 9 times then why wouldn't they send someone to your door to try get you to sign up?
From what you've written above the only rude part was you.
Nothing wrong with him telling you not to be rude. Interrupting someone mid sentence is indeed rude.
I would have said the exact same thing to you.
I'm not a fan of trying to get people fired for doing their job. Especially when you made repeated enquires with the company.
You seem to be becoming a contrarian these days.
Why is it curious that I wanted to know if the 1Gig service was available here when it currently wasn't and we were approaching VM's own deadline? Are you saying you've never looked up your home address multiple times on checkers to see what is available to you?
I haven't landed here from Mars. I have had sales people at the door previously. Usually when I tell them, in a polite way, that I'm not interested they said "ok" and the interaction is friendly because I've saved us both time from standing there for no reason.
Would you rather me let you do your speech for 5 minutes and then said I don't want it, or would you rather me tell you early that I'm not interested in changing services, and you can move to the next house?
So you think I'm rude for attempting to politely quicken the interaction for us both. But this guy is breathing on me, no mask, and walking towards me trying to get me to move back so he could step forward, and thats ok with you?
Stepping in to someones space is an aggressive act. I don't know if this guy had covid. The guy seemed disorganised, including taking a phone call mid-interaction.
