Reading about other Kitizens exploits with Zyxel VMG3925s I thought 'I need one of those to play with'.
As I didn't want to pay a lot I started searching my favourite auction site but the lowest price I could find was £75 - far too much for tight-fisted me!
Not wishing to give up I continued my search, and after some time (probably weeks
) I found a brand new Post Office branded version for £10.99 plus postage - grand total of £14.90.
It was on Buy-it-Now or best offer, but I didn't feel cheeky enough to make an offer at that price (and certainly didn't want anyone else snapping it up in the meantime), so it was duly purchased.
A few days later it arrived and it was indeed a brand-new, shrink wrapped, VMG3925-B10B with Post Office branding as described.
Like a little child I excitedly connected it up and configured it for my BT circuit - all initially seemed well.
After about half-an-hour I noticed that the 5GHz SSID had disappeared.
Further checks showed that it was coming and going (mostly going) despite showing as being 'on' in the GUI.
'What bad luck' (or other unpublishable words to that effect) I thought.
I next upgraded the firmware to the latest version, but it was still no good.
Then I thought that, being new, perhaps Zyxel would help me.
A support ticket was raised and, all credit to Zyxel, they responded very quickly, but alas it was not to be - apparantly the Post Office branded versions were supplied through Fujitsu and Zyxel could not cover it.
So with heavy heart it has gone back to the seller and I await my refund.
Why do I have such bad luck.
