I was onto Netgear support for about 5 hours yesterday with no resolution. They had be trying all sorts of port forwarding and port triggering setups for ports that had been suggested by Hive.
Also we tried the NAT filtering to 'open' but this didn't work either. Are there any other NAT settings hidden away? How about PPPOE Pass Through? I am grasping at straws here 😂

Most Netgear products are based on Openwrt barrier breaker or chaos calmer.

Both came out eight to seven years ago, Netgear then adapts a top end and has to forever patch the system.

Can you put openwrt 22.03.2 on the r8000 please

Just a thought, as I'm not familiar with Hive or Orbi. However the issue you describe sound like client isolation, have you checked this setting on your Orbi router? Maybe listed a guest isolation, or client isolation. If its enabled, devices will only be able to communicate to the router and Internet, they will be isolated on the LAN, ie unable to directly communicate with the Hive device from your WiFi. This needs to be disabled for local communication.

Okay - I need a bit more info. You say "multiple apps" and through browsers.

You can access the Hive dashboard in two ways.

Via a web browser - url https://my.hivehome.com/dashboard

And/or via the IOS/Android App.

Which one of these methods (if any) work when the device is connected to you home network?

A long shot but have you tried disabling IPV6 on the router and only using IPV4. Not sure if this affects Hive but some systems, eg AOL Mail, don't play nicely with IPV6.

I can't see this setting... any idea where it would be?

Won't work either way, browser dashboard, apps on apple or android devices.

IPv6 seemed to be disabled by default but I have tried this turned on with no joy.

I don't think IPv6 is turned on on the HG612 however so did wonder if that was the issue? Not sure how to test this?

I don't think IPv6 is turned on on the HG612 . . .

The HG612 is just a bridging modem. There is nothing to turn-on or to turn-off.

So when you go to myhivehome url - does it let you log in? Out can you not reach that URL at all?

Enable: "Start Debug Log Capture when boot up" ?

There is no such option.
