Tuesday 24th Chat
« on: February 24, 2009, 07:24:18 AM »

Morning all,

Shrove Tuesday today.... who's up for pancakes?  Won't be having any here even though I loves 'em (with lots of lemon and a little sugar).... didn't get the lemon yesterday so that's out of the window lol.

Hope you all have a nice day whatever you're going to be doing......another grey start to the day here as per yesterday...may brighten up though, one can live in hope.

Enjoy your day and your pancakes if you're lucky enough to have them.

I used to stand at the stove for hours making pancakes when my children were young, and then again when my grandchildren came along.  I don't even like them ::)  So no, I'm not going to be making pancakes, a nice roast dinner is more my thing ;D

Good morning  ;D

No pancakes for TD, he has been put on a strict diet..... :(

Grey, drizzly and mild today will spend a bit of time in the garden again if it dries up, otherwise not much on the agenda.

Have a good day. :)

Well I don't know if I should say this  ;)  but I will            :sun: :sun:  AND   I shall be partaking of a crêpe or two   :o >:D     .....   in France the 2nd of February  is Chandeleur, and this is connected with Candlemas and also a fête for the future.  Pancakes are eaten on this day too and  by tradition  last pancake is always thrown on top of a wardrobe  :'( :'(   this is thought to be a guarantee that the household will not go hungry in the coming year !   (I know what you're all thinking  )

Off to meet up for lunch today , so I've a few things to catch on before I  go ....

Enjoy your day

Ooops I forgot it was pancake day.

Pottered about in the garden, quite pleasant with about four layers on, there's something very therapeutic about big loppers. Amazed that I have some crocus flowering, I always forget they are there until they flower again. Sure I saw a female Blackbird gathering nesting material early this morning, I think she may be a little premature.

Not too early - we had two fledglings in the garden this morning!

Blackbirds are famous for starting early. A year or two back, there was one pair which successfully fledged a brood before Christmas.
