Telford Network issues
« on: May 15, 2024, 09:57:27 PM »

Can anyone explain what does this fault code mean C0? This is the first time the G.fast has been downtime since 8:29pm and never has any issues for 5 months and ISP told me from BTw response:

BT have responded with the following:

"BT have moved this fault to a non-appointed task which may take up to 2 working days to complete.
They shouldn't need access to the premises as they believe there to be an issue within their network or control. If there is no update after 2 days please make this known with a ticket update."

I'll leave this open pending further responses from them.

Cheers,

Further update:

"Engineer has reported that he is on site repairing a 144, 240, 48 and a 864 ribbon cable. It is going to be an all day job, I have agreed that I will call the engineer every 2-3 hrs for an update of the repair. Next update 12 – 12:30pm"

Cheers,

I saw facebook community support in my local area as all over Telford has the broadband issues, same with EE mobile issues. So, these will help others who are customers of Telford with ongoing no broadband (BT, SKy, TalkTalk, Vodafone), no EE mobile since last night after 8:30pm.

I just wish Openreach should have their own service status on their page for any broadband outage!

Fibre cut then. They’ll be some time mending all that! Day or two I’d say.

Edit- looks like a cable attempt theft and the idiots realised it wasn’t copper. Apparently it’s been cut in 5 places, but new stuff is about to be spliced imminently.

I just don't get it, I know copper is expensive but does it really hold enough value to cover the also expensive fuel cost of driving out to steal it and getting it to someone shifty enough to actually buy it?

I guess they probably steal the fuel too.

They kinda do. It's not public. Notices of outages are sent to their customers.

This is very true especially when phone services are delivered over this too
