Britains got talent/or has it?
« on: June 01, 2008, 07:30:47 AM »

I watched the final of Britains got talent last night, and after months later and thousands of acts it was won by a break dancer  :o.There was a boy of 13 and a girl of 12 who had amazing voices but didn;t come nowhere.I think this sums this country up,but saying that I think a lot of it is to do with the age group who phone in via premium rate numbers.I think older viewers have more sense after all the rip offs via these numbers.
Still those two kids will be snapped up in no time and will have very successful futures.  :)

For me the electric string quartet were the best of the lot, along with the 12yo girl... neither of which got into the final 3.

A travesty.

Yep totally agree, just wish either of them had won instead of the boy....he was good but how can you market that!

Yeah the boy was good, but like the two Asian guys, once you've seen the act once...

The acts I was rooting for would be a marketing dream with oodles of built-in talent.  (And very more-ish if I may say so.)

Not really an act that Simon could record to CD so he will not be too happy. He is reported as signing up a couple of singing acts from earlier rounds, so he just might earn a million or so this series.
My own opinion but I think something like this should replace the eurovision carp!

For me too.

The young lad that won it was good, but didn't deserve to win. I really can't understand why the 12 yr old girl didn't win - her voice was phenomenal.

I also liked the Andrews Sisters style group that went out in the semis - love that older style of music, and they did it wonderfully.

Winner has rare spinal condition:

http://tinyurl.com/69w948

Quote
the condition left George, 14, blind in one eye for 2 months last year.

‘The eye was all inflamed,’ he explains. ‘The spinal nerves were trapped and it affected my optic nerves.

Not much future in breakdancing, then, unless he wants to go blind and crippled by 21. What were his parents thinking of letting him carry on?

When the lad did his first performance on Saturday night,he finished the routine with a back flip. You could see he was hurt when he got up.Would you pay to see 2 minutes of that?Would you pay to see the girl sing?I know who get my 1 and 9 pence.

There's a poll on this page:

http://www.nowmagazine.co.uk/gallery/

You can vote to say if you thought he deserved to win. Amazingly, 87% think he was brilliant.
We haven't all voted yet though ...........

Get your votes in folks.
