AVG have announced the discontinuation of avg-antispyware, ewido-antispyware and avg-antirootkit and the imminent cessation of updates for these programs.

It was only a couple of weeks ago I d/l'd the avg anti-rootkit program... glad I did now.

Yes, but not now 100% reliable without the latest update. (if anything could be 100% that is)

AVG 8 FREE seems to have antispyware built into it .... is this just the (very good) ewido product packaged with it.

If it is then  .... a good free antivirus and a good free antispyware packaged together.

and yet the antispyware seems to be in the free version.
