Author Topic: I got G.INP enabled on the upstream but sync rate is now restricted.  (Read 2081 times)

Hi Guys, I now have G.INP on both upstrean and downstream  :)

But it seems my downstream is now capped at 66999 and wont move.

Is this due to DLM and if so how long should I wait until until the next restart or will the cabinet resync the new speed automaticly?

My noise margin is currently sitting a little high at 6.8

Thanks

If it was me I would try a reboot. You can have 10 per day on your profile without any DLM intervention...

Sounds like DLM has identified a quite serious problem on your line that requires G.INP on the upstream and has also banded your connection. I suggest you leave it alone for a couple of weeks and hopefully DLM will sort it out itself.

Ive already tried a reboot today and it didnt budge. Ill leave it alone for two weeks then and see what happens.

My line used to get 200 upstream ES a day without g.inp  so maybe thats why it got g.inp enabled.

Now it gets 0 for both us and ds   :)

Ok, so the cabinet re synced last night and removed g.inp even tho it reduced my ping from 17ms to 11ms so I actually prefered having g.inp, also the fact that it gave me 0 ES :/

But now the cabinet has left the restriction on the downstream at 66999.

So as far as I can tell the downstream for my line has always had 0 ES, the upload gets 200 ES per day and the cabinet tried to fix the ES on the upstream by adding G.INP on the upstream, which worked and I received 0 ES but then it removed it and now I am stuck with a banded downstream, thanks DLM...

It is very silly that openreach has taken this US G.INP route now with only 200 US ES per day on the upstream G.INP kicks in that is 1200 ES less than a DLM standard profile of 1400 on Interleaved or Fastpath

G.INP should be enabled on the upstream 24/7 the same as the downstream G.INP was designed that way and not the way openreach has configured it with this messed up G.INP MK2 config.

I am not the only one that thinks OR should change the config back to G.INP MK1 ;)

Yeah I wish they just kept the mk1 G.INP as well, it was much better. The people who had issues with there modems well tuff luck they should have made it up to them to sort it out and get a g.inp supported modem :D
