B4RN hits another milestone just in time
« on: December 31, 2013, 08:55:32 AM »

Gentlefolk,

The Lancashire stalwarts continue their quite astonishing progress despite all that mother nature throws at them.
To date they've not received State Aid of any description.
Wray has just gone live with a further 230 potential hyperfast broadband users now offered the symmetric 1 Gbps service.
This short video aptly demonstrates their unfaltering determination in quite atrocious conditions.

These links show how they are achieving the seemingly impossible for much of rural UK.
Initial take-up from 50% to 90%, even with those still on contract, demonstrate the demand is just waiting to be satisfied.

A Happy New Year to all including the Lancashire Luneies !

Kind regards,
Walter

EDIT PS I am fortunate enough to have been welcomed into the B4RN community even though I'm normally far away. For those who have not had the opportunity to observe their determination and how much of the operation is low-tech but quite hard work, here is their current photograph album.

IMHO this seems to be one of the few practical, long term future-proofed, economic solutions available in a short time span for those in sparse populations.
