Plusnet to Launch Unlimited Broadband on Wednesday 19th December
« on: December 15, 2012, 06:09:25 PM »

Quote
On Wednesday 19th December, we’ll be launching truly unlimited broadband. That’s the same great value fibre and ADSL services you’ve come to expect without any download limits or fair usage policy. Just in time for Christmas

Plusnet Unlimited will offer ‘up to 16Mbps’ speeds and unlimited usage with no throttling/speed limits from as little as £9.99/mnth. Prices for the ‘up to 76Mbps’ fibre equivalent will start from £19.99/mnth.

For the less data hungry of you out there, we’ll be retiring our current Value packages and replacing them with Plusnet Essentials and Essentials Fibre. With peak-time usage allowances of 10GB and 40GB respectively, prices start from just £5.99/mnth.

Lots of discussion on the PN forums and my understanding is no throttling!

But it is "managed" according to this: http://community.plus.net/blog/2012/12/21/its-unlimited-why-is-it-still-traffic-managed/

I can see a fair number of Be's customers checking out the PN offerings, especially where fibre is available.   ;)

My first check suggested I could cut my broadband bill in half, though as I use it (correctly within Be's T's & C's) mainly for business at present I'm not sure how valid that would be with PN.  :-X

I still cant understand why Be* are slow on the uptake on this.   You would think they could at least consider a Managed BT type option, rather than the drain of customers :/

Indeed. If PN can offer Unlimited fibre broadband at £19.99 per month then surely Be can offer something very similar?
At least as an interim until they can get GEA (?) or whatever the solution is working.

@kitz. This any use? PN are using prioritization rather than throttling, and there is no FUP.

Incidentally there is a quirk in the sign up, that worries some. They get the speed estimate, as would a new customer, and irrelevant,
