Good morning, unkyUb and all who may pop in.
I'm glad that the bad snow did not arrive in Sheffield, and I do hope that you can get out and about soon.......I know what cabin fever can do and would not wish it on anybody.
I hope, too, that things clear up enough for you to visit Caden........one look at his big wide grin will make up foe all the cold and misery..
TD woke up this am to the sounds of dripping water and muffled thumps and crashing noises....being the ultimate pessimist I thought of burst pipes and falling ceilings.
Went to investigate only to find that things had turned so mild in the night that the icicles on the gutters etc. are melting and dripping at a trememdous rate and that the thumping was huge rafts of snow and ice sliding down and falling off the roof. The roads are now running with meltwater.
Apparently this bitty thaw is to last two or three days before the cold comes back...but that cold is to be not so extreme as before.
What a relief to get even a short respite.
I had a wee trundle along the riverbank yesterday afternoon to see that the ice on the river was breaking up.....some mini bergs there were 2.5 inches thick..not bad for running water.
Going to relax today and hope that I can get off my nervous, adrenalin fired state of the last couple of days.
Have a good day.......I do trust that no-one is beset bu bad snowfalls and that all are well and warm.
