No, there's no direct relationship between latency and download speed, although very high values might indicate a problem with the server. The values shown above could be a bit of a problem with responsiveness on a games server, but aren't going to reduce download speed significantly.

Jeff - sorry I cant recall off the top of my head is your line interleaved do you know?

That could well account for the 1st hop latency if it is.  The increase on hop 4 will be because thats an international IP range outside the UK.

Hi Kitz
Yes Interleave is on ,its been on almost from the start . I had good connection 6Mbps + with snr ~5.but now connecting about 5Mbps if I am lucky with snr at 14 . My profile has dropped to 3.500K because sometimes my connection is as low as 4.2Mbps . Thats why I will be changing to a router to see what is going on

this was my original speedtest yesterday.

Your latency is a tad higher than I'd expect but not overtly so for an interleaved line... and certainly not at the stage where you would see obvious decreases in speed.

Ive just had a really horrible thought though...   you know you say you have to pipe hop on tiscali to get better speeds...  have there been some occasions where youve done this a few times in a short period of time.

Wondering if the DLM has increased your Target SNR, which will affect your max sync speed.  :(

Hi
yes I have , but I don't disconnect the Modem it remains connected . I thought it was only if you did many reconnections that the snr margin would increase . ???

Was just checking really.
If you just do a PPP reconnect - this is just to the ISP and wont touch or affect anything to do with the DLM.

I'm not sure if the ST330 does a full resync or is capable of just doing a PPP reconnect.

Hi
Yes the st330 connects without the ISP .when I boot up I have a connection no Isp . I have to conect by logging on . I terminate the ppp session the st330 is still connected . Both the USB and ADSL lights remain on .
