They are good pictures.

The OR guy was saying today that if everytime OR had to dig up the underground lines for repair they should start putting ducts down there. Then eventually over a few years they could gradually join them up. Also the amount of digging would be kept to a minimum.

Hmm I just had a thought. If OR put these G.fast boxes on, what would be stopping companies like Gigaclear, Hyperoptic etc from immediately offering FTTP to someones house? As the shorter distance would bring the situation closer to their current model.

Want to know a bit more about how much of the Openreach network is underground, aerial drop, aerial distribution, and how much capacity is available in ducts and pole-tops, take a gander here:
