It that wire twisted-pair?

I know what you are thinking  :) No it's not, but it is only a few inches long before it terminates into a plug at one end and a female socket on the other.

No, it didn't look twisted but I wasn't sure. How much more of your extension wiring is not twisted-pair?

Forgive me if I missed anything, but have you dealt with the bell wire yet?

If not, and you have extensions, the rewards of isolating the bell wire in the presence of interference can be quite phenomenal...

No extensions at all, the phones are wireless and the base station is plugged directly in the master socket via its mirofilter.

I think I've answered that in the reply to Dray, but thanks for the thoughts, it makes sure all bases are covered.

Octal alot of us would be interested to see your results as modem stats graphs if you could get hold of an HG612 or compatible router that works with DSLstats this would be great  :)

Just an update, I've fitted the low pass filter and although the speed has dropped a little I'm not getting any drop-outs when the TX is keyed, so I'll continue using that until such time when BT or VM deem the peasants in rural villages shall get cable broadband. I think I'll be nailed in my box before that ever happens.

Thanks for all the advice.

Happy Dx'ing and if you get a chance to move to FTTC take it as there will be more available tones and bands to stop the transmitter interfereing with the SNRM  ;)
