 Sod it, lets all get round to Asbo's and await the presence of the TT engineer. That would be some good 'You Tube' footage, right there !!  ;D ;D

Lmao the thought of that made me laugh.

Ok...... Asbo  books the appt and let's us know when.
BS brings the beer
I'll bring the wine
Snage brings the bacon and barm cakes
HP brings the sauce and nibbles
B*cat brings the milk
Rizla takes the vid and does the commentary.
Anyone else brings themselves.

Poor guy wouldn't know what hit him when he walks in.

Wasn't there some TV programme that did this for cowboy builders/etc? Setup CCTV all over the house etc?

Oh and I'm trying to remember where I heard of these "BrightSparks" before, I'm sure it wasn't anything to do with TT (who I know nothing about other than CS is a disaster). Might be a similar name but it was along the lines of helping people with IT/TV/phone problems.

* rizla wishes his memory wasn't full of utterly useless crap like this :P

Great idea, Kitz. I'll volunteer to do the atmospheric lighting.   ;D

Possibly on the Plusnet forums? Some very helpful members are designated 'Bright Sparks' - one at least I know posts here too.

Yep when I see the term bright spark, I always think of the plusnet forums.   The tag was attributed to those members who knew their stuff and could be trusted to give a knowledgeable answers.   They used to have to have a certain criteria of posts and were nominated by other members of the community.   Dunno if that's still the same...  Looooong time since I was one.

Lol at atmospheric lighting..  Do u do vanilla scented?  I like those

Time to crack open the home-made grog then!

I've been wary of "free" visits ever since my parents got a 'free visual check' from the electricity supply company.     A hard-nosed salesman called round, told them that they needed a split-load consumer unit (quoting £900 to fit about 12 years ago).  The salesman said the wiring was in breach of regulations (only true if it had been a new home) and dangerous without it (hmm..) And, finally, that the company could pull the main fuse if they didn't agree to the work!   So much for a "free" check!

cheers, a

Yeah that was it and I blame you - as the only times I have EVER visited Plusnet forums was via links you provided more than a decade ago :P

Maybe in another 10 years we'll have IPv6/FTTP and ..... <best stop the delusions there>.....
