The Plusnet Hub 1 is a rebadged BT Homehub 5 type A. It has a Lantiq chipset (VRX 268?), as does the Openreach ECI manufactured modem.

Oh thanks tubaman
I thought it may be as I've had a few chipsets in the test routers, and none has got the upload speed of the old hub.
A draytek 166 did almost but was bad with stats and the down was about 10 slower than a tplink medatek
The broadcom was a bit slower up down too

It seems the card in the cab likes a version if the Lantip chips
So I guess the free zen router my be okay

Prob keep the tplink vr2100 as a test one and AP with USB HDD
