On schedule, 2 Krone/OR vans turned up this morning for the FTTP install at my son's residance, very pleasant and communicative engineers.
They were initially confident that they could install the fibre/copper cable into the existing UG duct which was not a DIG installation as originally thought, the process would incorporate removing the existing copper cable and replacing with the new fibre/copper cable.
However and very unfortunately, a gas installation had taken place yesterday at his neighbours property involving a dig which would have crossed the cable duct path at right angles, now filled in again, the engineers reported that there was now a blockage at that point and they could not proceed any further, had to abort the installation and refer further remedial action back to BT/OR.
So, now awaiting repair/unblocking of the original duct or running of a new duct, thankfully the existing cable appears to be intact with phone and BB service still normal.
