One thing that is being overlooked and that is that the FedEx courier didn't get a signature and so if the monitor was damaged, the customer could just say that they hadn't received it !
Not always a problem. I left my home unoccupied for a couple of hours this morning, during which time a fairly valuable package was left on my doorstep by UPS. When I checked the online tracking, it had apparently been delivered and signed for... BY ME.

When a signature is require these days, it usually involves a hand-held screen with an electronic stylus. I find it very difficult to produce anything that resembles my usual signature, and it would equally be difficult to prove something was as forgery.
