Hey everyone,
Does anyone know how to disable Interleave or reduce the interleaving depth on an ADSL line manually through telnet or some other avenue?
Calling my ISP doesn't help, not one employee knows what I'm talking about.
Reason I want to change my line profile is for lower pings since I'm a gamer.
Below is a screenshot of my line stats from telnet (The modem I'm using is a speedtouch 546v6)

interleaving is set by the DSLAM, you cannot change it. You may be able to cap your sync speed somewhat below your maximum, thereby increasing the SNR which may in turn influence the DLM to relent eventually.
-
They are already on some capped speed profile, 1024k down and 192k up, presumably some kind of 1Mb product from their ISP.
Some Thomson/Technicolor devices do not report the interleaving status correctly in that place, and say "Channel Mode: Interleaved" even when it is not interleaved. However, perhaps partly due to the capped speed and huge SNR margins, there are zero errors, so we can't infer if interleaving is on from the presence of FEC errors.

I'm certain its on interleave. My ping to local sites is 40ms.

How do I go about doing that?
This is no joke if I want to lower my sync speed I connect my Raspberry Pi HDMI to VGA converter this will lower the SNRM by 1.5 dB due to extra noise on the circuit and then reboot the VDSL modem and hey presto lower sync with a higher SNRM.

I'm on a stupid mobile device which won't let me copy and paste, but the block starting iNP shows that you are interleaved.
I agree with ejs, that the line appears to be rate limited by the ISP. It is capable of more and probably doesn't need interleaving, but it looks like it's been set by default.
As already mentioned by loony lion, unfortunately there is no way that it can be turned off from your end :(
--
PS for other regs this is probably a non UK ISP although I can't check ATM where (stupid crApple crash) so the usual manual lowering of sync speed we use for Openreach connections probably won't apply.

Indeed, I'm from Botswana for anyone wondering.
Oh well, guess Ill keep calling my ISP and just hope I speak to someone who will actually understand what I'm talking about.
By turning off interleaving, is this something that can be done in a few seconds from a computer? Or do technicians/engineers have to go to the DSLAM and change it from there?
-
It's part of the DSLAM config. Whether or not your ISP can change the config remotely depends on their setup and if they own the DSLAM or what access to the config they have. They may or may not be able to override interleaving on a per line basis, they may or may not be willing too.
In short, it's a long shot, unfortunately. Especially if you're having difficulty getting past the 'have you rebooted your modem/computer?' stage.
