'Allo "Allo  a Tous !    Hope you are all tickety boo despite the 'limbo' situation      keep smiling ! 


It's Portes Ouverts  (doors open) here this weekend  ... when the local chateaux,  about 80 in total,  open up for tastings ...  and buying if you want .  Some of them offer food, from canapes to full lunches;  some have art exhibitions .... it's a good couple of days out ....  alas the weather, although very warm,  is wet       ...... in all the time we've been here it's the first Portes Ouvert weekend when the sun hasn't been blazing and  flags cracking ...... hey ho  .. I don't think it will dampen the spirits        We shall be doing our own tasting later 

I still have a few pots to plant out and hope to be doing that between showers 

Whatever you are all doing  ...enjoy   ...    and take care !

A very good morning Scottiesmum, cloudy but dry here although there is a very sharp edge on the wind.
I've been out and done all the shopping and things so unfortunately there isn't enough left to nip over and join the festivities.
Sounds like real fun.

Down to some home improvements now, as long as the back holds out.

I must say that Portes Ouverts sounds like the sort of festival one could get to like. It might be an idea to get someone else to do the driving though.

I hope your back holds out SS44. I have to treat mine with care too, although I do enjoy DIY (particularly with wood).

Good morning all. 

From a very cold,wet,windy Sheffield.........Winter has returned. 

Blue's mobility has worsened the last couple of days.He was able to stand this morning.I managed to get him on his feet but he just fell over again.He has managed to stand  but just takes a few steps before he flops down again.

He  fell down the 3 steps leading to the outside yesterday.We are now thinking enough is enough for him.come Monday I will phone the vets to seek advice.
Sue is really upset and I am finding it hard to be strong for her.

We shall see how he is over the weekend,but the bottom line is he is going to keep on deteriorating.

UncleUB, you and Sue have my deepest sympathies. It is a very difficult decision you have to make. Unlike us humans other animals just keep trying to do what they would like to do, while we can be confined to bed. You have to be the strong one and I'm sure you will do what is best for Blue.

Well that 's the stair carpet lifted, only two cups of tea as well.

@Roseway: I also love DIY with wood, but also with building materials as well. That's when the back cannot cope these days.

He has managed to get down the rear steps and been onto the garden with us for a few minutes.Still quite wobbly though.
