Avira anti-virus
« on: November 20, 2009, 06:32:39 AM »

Anyone using Avira anti-virus may be currently experiencing very slow definitions updates....or none at all !

There is apparently severe congestion on their servers dues to high demand of a recent very large download.

Details and workarounds here http://www.calendarofupdates.com/updates/index.php?s=b44fef662d6fc7fc7114d33463d88235&act=calendar&cal_id=1&code=showevent&event_id=63257

Hi
last nights update went through ok :)

They had a similar problem sometime ago. The way I got around it was on advice from Scottiesmum was to set my own update time . It seems if its left to the default(every 24 hrs ) then  lots of people will be trying to update at same time ,probably at peak times as people first switch on their PCs and Avira decides it needs to update .

On Avira  main page use   Administration/scheduler  to schedule the required time  to start .

Regards Jeff
