Error with site certificate
« on: October 12, 2009, 12:00:36 PM »

Hi,
Just wondering if you can help me out please.  Trying to renew my ticket on lottery site (living in hope here of course  ;D) but I am getting the following pop up when I go onto the site ........

" To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors..."

Can you tell me if it's a problem with their site, my security (AVG 8.4.421 version) or windows security please and how to deal with it, is safe to sign in and use like it is?  I don't want to go on the site and compromise my details if I shouldn't be there with that notice appearing.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Chrissie

Hi Chrissie,

It might be that the website has not renewed /or is in the process of renewing their security cerificate

Chrissie, is the pop-up coming from IE or from your anti-virus prog ?

It may be as unkyUb suggests,........ if it is IE popping up, it may just be over-jealous security settings in there, but if it is you AV it may be something more serious.

I use the National Lottery site too, and had no problem logging in just now. Perhaps you need to clear out your browser cache (or try a different browser).

Three different suggestions so far. Who's going to be the lucky one?

Hi everyone, thanks for your help here.  It was with IE as posted above, not my security AVG.....BUT, went on the lotto site today and the message hasn't appeared...strange because it was there until now.  However, I did email Camelot and asked if it was their site or my IE....they said they would look into it and maybe they did....maybe they hadn't renewed their certificate...hmmm....but they haven't got back to me though.  Anyway it's ok at the mo....don't know about winning but if it millions...there will be some rave up for everyone here  ;D......that's if I don't die of a heart attack from shock at winning ha ha.

GTG
Cheers for now and thanks for your help.
