I braved the elements in order to restock the "pantry" and alternated between the windscreen wipers on full pelt and sunglasses
- the clouds parted in time for me to get out of the car and back into it again, and guess what TD I spotted some Scottish pheasants ... they are frozen but none the less - we used to get a lot of game straight from the shooting fraternity when we were in the UK, but haven't had pheasant here for a long time, so I was pleased to find those today. There is a huge shooting fraternity here, and we see them walking up our track here looking like Rambo with all the kit on and their dogs at their sides. Shooting in the vineyards is very much a no no ... but there is a large wood down in the valley where they all seem to head for and at times it's as if WW3 has started
BUT I NEVER see anything they've shot !! I think they just like dressing up
...... so I've not found a supplier of fresh pheasant .... YET !!! A near neighbour used to raise them purely for eating and we used to be able to get them from her, but she has since died ....
It's still duck for dinner though .................... I've not forgotten
Roast dog !!!
Eric, I'll get Unc to set Blue onto to you
OR perhaps just Unc if he's a rottweiller
though I suspect he's really a big pussycat
