Max attainable rate

I should know the answer to this, but not sure. Is the max attainable rate reported by a VDSL modem predicated on an SNRm of 6dB or 3dB (assuming 3dB is possible) and the current actual SNRm is > 6dB?

It's based on the current DLM set target SNRM, whether that be 6db, 5dB, 4dB or 3dB.
The max attainable increases in small steps as the SNRM target decreases.

So assuming if current SNRm is > 6dB due to DLM action, then max attainable is based on 6dB as that would be the current target. Is that correct?
