No matter what router you'll choose, 5GHz is by default limited in its range. So, you either need to be closer to the router or use 2.4GHz.

I'm surprised 5ghz is limited in range, my Mikrotik router is capable of receiving a 5ghz wireless signal from 12 miles away.

Comparing the reach when using a directional antenna with the reach of a omnidirectional antenna in a home router isn't a valid comparison!
