He tested positive, so I’d say he merited the test.
I was just interested that the statement implied it was his own decision. But I’m probably nitpicking, he probably just means that his decision was to contact NHS 111 and they decided to test him, probably taking account of his movements as well as symptoms.
There’s also an argument that such captains of Industry actually should qualify for testing more easily. If he’s sick you don’t want him mingling with peers, leaving an Industry with all the captains sick at the same time.
