Sorry if this is a daft question but I can't tell from most net-published information a definitive answer to this: if once you have an NTE5 faceplate (phone/broadband splitter within the Master socket [standard ADSL]) do you then need to [re-]connect the ring wire on your phone-side wiring to get extensions to ring?
As a sub-question, I presume if you do connect the ring wire then you'll not get the ring-wire-as-aerial-speed-degradation problem since it's on the phone wiring side?
Thx in advance. (Would prefer a definitive answer before I go wire up the extension in my mother-in-law's new property rather than use trial and error.)
