Help - Millions of HEC Errors
« on: August 12, 2016, 10:58:49 PM »

Hello, i have had BT Infinity 1 for 12 days now. Today i noticed a massive increase in HEC Errors.

Is this is something to be concerned about?

(I can run the other stats programs that people use on here to provide you with more information if you need it)

This is a screenshot from today - 12th August 2016

The stats from the web interface are not reliable. Get some through telnet and xdslcmd to check what is happening

Does this help? [I rebooted the Modem not long ago]

Im sorry, beyond the basic information in the statistics, i am not remotely knowledgeable enough to assess the statistics or their nuances.

That looks like a 55/10 service to me you could easily go for an 80/20 service with those stats say 300 meters to huawei cabinet and with G.INP why is it each new member on kitz has a short line with top of the range stats it's becoming annoying  ;D

judging by the 4mb jump in attainable, and path 1 starting to go above 0, I'd guess the change was g.inp activating on your line. there's so many errors on the webui, and g.inp makes it worse. if you want a neat UI you can read like the webui then I recommend installing HG612_Modem_Stats.

Everything looks good with your line. I would just leave it alone and avoid reboots

As people said, the web GUI is faulty. HEC actually applies to ATM, and doesn't matter to FTTC - and the number that is displayed is actually more likely to be a badly-displayed negative number (-6, to be exact). In programming parlance, it is a 32-bit signed number being displayed as though it is 32-bit unsigned.

The sync looks fine, with G.INP enabled.

The error rate looks fine too, but there's only 20 minutes of data, so it is too soon to be sure.
