Like I said, their Downstream BRAS IP Profile was just over 20 Mbps, not possible on ADSL, and you'd be lucky to get a Downstream BRAS IP Profile of 5 Mbps on ADSL here.

This is what I would do use your modem or unlocked Hg612 on their circuit to gain stats for 48 hours and post the stats on the Kitz forum

Surely, that would mean loosing our internet for 48 hours? Don't have 2 Billion BiPAC 8800NL's. XD

Well, they run a business, so surely they'd want the fastest speed their connection can handle? There's always point in trying.

I don't agree with this. If they run a small business from home, their most important consideration will be the reliability of their internet connection. I can't think of many circumstances in which a speed of 20 Mbps would be a significant issue for a small business. So, whatever you do, don't do anything which would possibly put their connection stability at risk.

I think you also need to consider two things, firstly they may not appreciate you taking an interest in THEIR affairs and feel you are interfering, secondly since they run a business IF something went wrong with what you might do they could hold you responsible for any costs involved in repairing it and perhaps worse still claim for loss of earnings from you as well.

Comments like that are not going to help anyone.

William is young and learning, he doesn't have the benefit of many years experience like a lot of us on here, we've all learnt from mistakes we've made.

Thank the lord, Ronski! Someone understands! Guys, I'm going to just say one more thing, I would try not to break anything and certainly wouldn't attempt anything out of my comfort zone if I was doing some work for someone paid or not. Like I said, I've done similar work to this in the past and I've not broken anything. ;)
