We’ve published our Delivering our Purpose 2015/16 Report, outlining progress and showing how BT uses the power of communications to make a better world.
Over the past five years BT has invested more than £153m to bring its purpose to life, and the results of our investment are evident in the progress that we’ve made in a number of key areas:
• Over 25 million UK premises can now get access to fibre broadband.
• We brought affordable internet access to low income residents of over 10,875 social housing properties in the UK – so they can make the most of the benefits the internet can bring.
• In our first year, we have already reached 340,000 children as part of our ambition to improve the tech literacy of 5 million children by 2020.
• Since 2012/2013 we’ve raised over £327m in support of charities and communities and have had 27% of our people volunteered during the year, getting us closer toward our goal of raising £1 billion for good causes by 2020.
• Our products and services helped our customers cut their emissions by 1.6 times our end-to-end carbon footprint.
