DSLStats snapshot size
« on: June 02, 2016, 02:54:49 PM »

hi, I am using DSLStats to monitor my VDSL connection, and have set up the program to create regular snapshots.  Is there any way to specify the dimensions of the output images?  I find it much easier to compare changes between snapshots if the images are the same size.  Currently it seems output the image at whatever dimensions the app window is.
Cheers
Tom

You're right, at present the snapshots are a direct same size copy of what's on the screen. I'll do some tests, but I should be able to scale the images to a specified size. I have some questions:

Do you want to retain the aspect ratio of the screen images, or have complete freedom to specify width and height?

The white borders vary somewhat in width and height, depending on the amount of text they hold. The connection speed graph, for example, has a wider left border because it has larger numbers on the axis. Would you want the actual graph area to be defined? (I should say that I'm not keen on doing this, because it would be quite fiddly to get right.)

It would be great to specify an output size, maybe with some presets

I would also say that I don't see a problem with slight differences between different types or graphs, (SNR margin vs Bitloading) however all I would like to see is all graphs or each type being the same dimensions. So when browsing through the graphs of the same type it is easier to see trends.

I've added this option now, with some extra controls in the snapshots configuration section - see below. I'll upload test versions in the next day or so.

Brilliant, that was quick.  I'll keep an eye out for the test version.
