TP-LINK TD-W9970
« on: April 06, 2016, 11:58:29 AM »

I'm a bit fed up with scratching around, on a certain popular Internet auction site, to get hold of Huawei HG612's, only to have to return some of them, because they turn out not to be model 3B, even though there's a picture of a 3B in the listing ... Grrrrr!   >:(

The TBB review says that the TD-W9970 can be configured in bridged mode, like the dear old HG612.

Does anyone know if, when in bridged mode, the LAN IP remains reachable, via one of the other LAN ports, so that DSLstats can still see it?

TIA,
Bill

Have a read of http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,17067.0.html which includes a link to Kitz's review of the modem

Yes no problem on LAN ( I would have thought); I use the ethernet cable that carries the PPPoe connection (depends on router).

You will need to restore a hacked config file to enable telnet on port 1023; download @les-70 zip here http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,17108.msg315457.html#msg315457

you will have an indication on the GUI see here http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,17108.msg315358.html#msg315358

I can absolutely guarantee that this one is a 3B!

The TD-W9970 doesnt work with DSLstats.
It uses a custom TP-link CLI.  A few of the guys are attempting to hack the TD-W9970 to get full access to the CLI and they've made some progress, but it still doesn't work with DSLstats.

Loading the custom config file allows it to work with DSLStats.
