Gezz does anyone listen to AM radio while driving their car though it's a great way to find REIN hot spots BUZZzzz and listen to snaps and crackles of t/storms, remember the window wipers on old cars used to interfere with AM radios a sweeping wine noise during each cycle of the motor phaze.

I remember when windscreen wipers on some cars were vacuum driven

Oh yes, only too well.

My first car, a 1961 Ford Pop 100E had them, and they often stopped when climbing a hill. 

One dark night, with the rain falling like stair rods, the mechanical linkage broke, but my passenger was able to operate them by hand by holding the metalwork under the dashboard.

They don't make 'em like that any more - thank goodness.
