The driver had a gash on his back local rumour mill has it, taken off to one of the two local hospitals (presumably Broadford). But he walked away from it.

Locals described being hit by a "wall of wind".

I thought of you last night when I saw the weather forcast. I certainly wouldn't want be driving an articulated lorry in the weather you get up there, it's bad enough when it's windy down this end of the country.

It's been pretty windy off and on for the last week or or so. Our greenhouse was wrecked on Sunday, Mrs Weaver reports.

Further north than us, on the mainland at Achadh nan Allt, between Achadh na Sėne and Garbh, the roads were washed away. My neighbour was heading towards Inverness and only just made it through before the roads were closed.
