Mikrotik, plusnet and bt sport setup
« on: September 18, 2015, 01:29:59 PM »

Hello hopefully this can be a quick fix. I’ve just got myself bt sport with the youview box but having issues when trying to watch the channel, I’ve currently got a mikrotik router so setting it up is quite a challenge and was hoping someone knew what to do. my isp is plusnet as well

Thanks

Welcome to the Kitz forum.

Unfortunately I do not have any experience of configuring a Mikrotk modem/router.  :(

Would I be right in presuming that you have a VDSL2 service? If so, perhaps someone with a YouView box could outline the essential configuration parameters and then they could be adapted for your Mikrotik device.

I had a BT YouView box a couple of years ago and also decided to try and use a Billion 7800 and I found that I needed to enable Multicast and IGMP proxy & snooping to get it to work correctly. I'd suggest looking for those options on your own router.

Edit: A quick Google revealed this - http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Routing/IGMP-Proxy

Might be helpful.
