DSLstats pre-release version 4.54.7
« on: June 14, 2014, 06:58:45 PM »

This is intended to be the last testing version before the next full release, which is going to be 5.00. It addresses the various comments made regarding v4.54.5/6 and adds some small additional features. Changes since v4.54.6:

- fixed non-deletion of webserver files when changing snapshot directory after startup
- now autodetects modems which require the HG622 workaround (with an optional manual override)
- when an email alert is sent, it's noted in the event log
- added some more checks to trap rare "Division by zero" errors
- added "Save text" buttons to each of the Telnet Data tabs
- CRC and FEC graphs now rescale correctly when switching between per-sample and per-minute
- added signal attenuation to the Stats page (for modems which return the information)
- added a reset button to the login configuration page
- fixed an occasional scaling error on the ES/hour chart when viewing earlier days

I recommend that you press the button "Reset the login configuration" on the login page and enter the login details again, as some changes have been made in this area which may otherwise lead to confusion.

Just a small comment regarding the TP-Link TD-W8960N v5 - DSLstats doesn't support this model, and never has. There is an issue with the telnet interface which makes it unresponsive after a small number of logins.

The username and password are case-sensitive ('admin', not 'Admin').

Having had a look at the log it seems to think I have an HG622 which I don't it's and HG612  :o

EDIT: have it working  :) had to tick (not HG622 type) in normal login page.

Just for the record, the default telnet login/password for a HG622, a HG610 or a HG612 is admin/admin.

That said, N*Star does appear to be experiencing some form of "mishap".  :-\

Thanks for working it out. Obviously I have to do a bit more work on the auto detection.

Just as an update if I reboot my PC DSLstats 4.54.7 it will again run into the incorrect name and password, I have to manually go into login page and click (not HG622 type) for some reason it's not saving those settings to the config file (INI).

OK, thanks. I can see that you're right, and I didn't save that setting. I'll check out the HG612 myself a bit later, and I'm sure I can resolve this.

Eric I only just installed this. I had not realised I had to set the HG622 flag to stop the event log filling up with messages saying I have an HG622 perhaps you could change this to only put out the message once.

The per sample and per minute displays for CRCs now seem to work OK.

Thanks Stuart. It's not supposed to repeat that message, so I've got that a bit wrong. It will be corrected.

Many thanks.

The new version works well. Sampling didn't freeze anymore so far.

Maybe you can fix this little things:

- Save the "Autoscale Y axis" setting to the config file.
- Remove the "List index (0) out of bounds" error if the dslstats.ini isn't existent (windows only).

On the last line of the pbParams data some additional characters are displayed. On the linux version I saw an error in the log about malformed pbParams data. It seems not to cause any problems but I want to let you know about it. This affects version 4.53 too.

Three different examples of this issue:
Code: [Select]
TX Power(dBm): -9.6 -6.8 1.5 N/A 8.4 7.8 6.7 -44.8750
TX Power(dBm): -9.6 -6.8 1.5 N/A 8.4 7.8 6.7 4088
TX Power(dBm): -9.6 -6.8 1.5 N/A 8.4 7.8 6.7 NR

Eric maybe spoke too soon about per minute vs per sample. I had a spike showing about 66 CRCs per sample max with just a some either side and the event log showed 66 CRCs per minute but when I switch to per minute graph it shows over 270 CRCs per minute at this time. Should the event log always show the alert as per minute or will it show what ever you have selected to display?
