If (when the time comes) you select the 'self-install' option, then you won't get an engineering visit and you can crack on as you were, so to speak. The engineer will only visit the Cab to do the necessary business.

Thats not to bad, I am 0.62 miles from fttc cabinet (997 meters) and on a good day my sync rate will be 31000 kbps down (attainable 35000 kbps) and 6500 kbps up, so for you 34000 kbps should be in the bag all lines being equal that is  :(
