BT 2Wire 2700HGD Unlocking im f possible or Not
« on: March 25, 2014, 05:18:39 AM »

The Unit is a
Assembly no 4201-003003-008 (BT OpenZone enabled)

    Hardware version 2701-100589-005
    Dual SSID printed on label.
factory shipped firmware v6.1.1.48.1-enh.tm  But mine has 6.1.1.22? does that help
The firmware on this model cannot be downgraded to an earlier v5 version.
Max wireless power: 25mW with BT v6 firmware (Cannot be hacked)

Is there anything that can be done with this router please? Thanks

Someone has put 6.1.1.22 beta firmware on to it.

Plenty of info here:

6.1.1.22 is a bit of a pain to unlock to use as a router but not impossible.

You could flash it with Qwest firmware but that has issues too.

The 2wire is a bit of an antique compared to newer modem-routers, but they do work great as a cheap 'dumb' ADSL bridge modem (using BT v6.1.x firmware) connected to a newer wireless-N router (without built-in ADSL modem) using PPPoE connection on BT ADSL broadband.
