I usually use Chrome browser on Windows XP and Windows 7, but recently noticed that Microsoft have released Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7, so thought I'd try it out.
The main shock is that it feels faster than Chrome! It's very snappy, and pages load and render faster than they do in Chrome.
My PC is hardly top of the range, it's a dual core 3Ghz Intel with 4gb RAM. Watching HD video (eg from here :
http://redlettermedia.com/) in Chrome really taxes the machine, the video struggles to keep in synch with the audio and the CPU usage runs at 100%.
I blamed this on my PC not being up to it, but when watching the same video in Internet Explorer 10, it's lovely and smooth, totally in synch and CPU usage hovers around 60%!
So, I'm very impressed!
That said, in another Kitz thread there's talk of the HTML5 broadband speed test
http://speedof.me/, and I found that it produces ludicrously low results for my line compared to the results given in Chrome. So perhaps not everything is quite sorted yet.
