BBC website offline?
« on: November 09, 2011, 12:45:11 PM »

The BBC website appears to have gone offline - I tried the usual ways of checking.  Can anyone else get onto it?

Colin

PS - BBC1 was off the air for about 15 minutes in our region this morning as well.

:)

There's a new beta version of their website which is being tested - maybe this was a small hiccup related to that.

I contacted a friend who works in their web team, and he says it was due to an internal "cock-up" ....... a technical term, I assume.  Most people wouldn't notice as they would be looking at cached pages.

That's a well established technical term. ;D
