New Isp - Slow Speed...
« on: November 01, 2011, 08:05:16 PM »

Changed from ADSL24 to BT and was activated yesterday.

I usually get about 3.5mb on speedtests all the time with ADSL24.

Just did a speed test with BT and it was 1.2mb....bit worrying, but is it possible that I would get slower speeds in the first 10 days, or is this just 'welcome to BT'??...

Without sight of your current statistics -- the sync speed, the loop attenuation and the target SNRM -- we really can't be sure if you haven't jumped "out of the frying pan into the fire". :-\

Ok sorry - although I do seem to be getting 3.2mb speed again now and have done for the past hour.

Hi
Your synch rate is about right for your attenuation, giving you a profile of 3500Kbps .So at present your speedtest of 3200Kbps is just about all you can expect, with luck during quiet periods you might get a little more up to your profile . Any serious drop below that with your current synch rate will be caused by contention .
