On the tracert front...

Quote
Tracing route to google.co.uk [209.85.146.99]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1     1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  DD-WRT [192.168.2.1]
  2    19 ms    19 ms    19 ms  lns4.uan.thn.uk.murphx.net [89.145.254.73]
  3    19 ms    19 ms    26 ms  uan-er1.uan.thn.uk.murphx.net [89.145.254.65]
  4    22 ms    20 ms    19 ms  ge2-6-1.cr2.core.thn.uk.murphx.net [89.145.254.1
69]
  5    19 ms    19 ms    19 ms  ge1-2-1.crs1.core.thn.uk.murphx.net [109.170.249
.45]
  6    20 ms    20 ms    31 ms  te2-3.cr05.tn5.bb.gxn.net [62.72.139.97]

Is that what's limiting my connection?

Has the line held on through its normally iffy time slots now xilo have up the SNR & interleave depths?

Maybe ping -N 300 www.google.com

might be useful for packet loss & ms ?

Meh, I'm annoyed.

It worked absolutely fine all weekend and I was feeling positive about it, thought something must've been changed. Then the illusion was shattered and it died on Monday.

So as of yesterday C&W have chopped my upload in half (usable: 400kbps) and are "running tests" for stability.

Awful! Really slows web browsing down. But it hasn't died since the change (yet). I'm hoping they;ll find us a happy medium but I live in hope.

Hi
Sorry must have missed your post somehow . What happened with the tracert ? seems to not have completed ?
Have you tried further Tracert to see if you can Identify a particular problem area .?

Don't quite understand how quote :(usable: 4 So as of yesterday C&W have chopped my upload in half

Hi Jeff

Cheers for having another look :)

Well, browsing is noticably slower on whatever higher-stability IP profile they've bumped me onto.

The tracert thing didn't get past my modem when the line was dead, as for tracert in general, it was pretty standard.
