In Regedit ....Domains folder
« on: November 20, 2011, 05:37:23 PM »

I noticed the folder in the registry and saw that there were numerous domains I had never heard of and some I never wanted to. :o
In ordinary Windows search there is no equivalent.

What, please, is that folder and its contents? Can contents be deleted safely?

That folder is associated with Internet Explorer, and contains detail of any sites which you may have classed as either "Trusted" or "Restricted" ......the DWord at the end of the string defining trusted or restricted.

You can delete the folder, but you would lose any trusted sites you have listed, and possibly break the link to any relevant cookie/password/login detail associated with those sites.

The "nasty" sites listed in the folder are possibly ones you have blocked access to at some time.......the fact they are listed does not mean they are a threat......they are not active malware or viruses.

If it were me, I would leave the folder alone and forget it.
