I don't believe that Firefox 4 is still being supported by Mozilla. But Ubuntu should be looking after security updates via its software centre/update notifier.

I'm afraid I've never used Ubuntu, Jeff, but I believe that you will be automatically notified of any pending software updates. Even if I'm right, and FF4 isn't supported any more, Ubuntu will have a decent security update policy.

If anyone is interested in following up this story, have a read of the third posting in this thread in the Debian user forums:

http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=69934

It's just one person's assessment, but there's a lot of information and analysis there.

Mozilla do seem to be very good with their updates. I know this is windows in my case but I still use 3.6.?? and it was auto updated this am to 3.6.22 which was an urgent security update. I imagine they will do the same for Linux versions as well although I've not run either of my Linux installs to see.

Yes indeed. My 6.0.1 auto-updated to 6.0.2 this morning.
