Hmmm -   What if I take peep at the RF3 and maybe "remove" and see what happens?
Then "if" things get better I could either put it back and ask OR to remove it "officially"
or just leave it off and say nothing :)
The OR chap that fitted it did say it could reduce connection a bit.
If "removing" makes no difference I guess I will have to soldier on until "fibre" arrives in December.
Either way it does look like my REIN has gone :clap2:

Well, we can not possibly advise you to "fiddle" with things on the OR side of the NTE5/A but I know what I would do (as an inquisitive feline  ::)  ).

Well before I might "fiddle" I just may wait a bit as something odd appers to be going on :-\
Ive had a shed load of re-syncs today (after all looked good) and I have a bad feeling :'(

Apart from "something doesn't look right", I'm not sure what else I could say. Just "hang on in there" and wait to see if Jeff has an opinion.

After all that has now occurred, I know that I would not be happy with your situation. :'(

I forgot to mention I set RS to sample at 15 seconds now so maybe that gives a different slant ???

Hi
Have you had a look at the router Log ?
Do you have the same tabs on your version of RS as on attachment?

jeffbb - - its 2-wire 2701-hgv-c
OK- - I found view routers log immmediately to left of home but its empty ???
However, the next left shows "view log" and on choosing the 2nd October at 13.54 i show lost sync - 0db noise margin :(

Sun 02 Oct 2011  13:54:16   Rx-Noise=7.0   Tx-Noise=13.0   Rx-Sync=3008   Tx-Sync=448
Sun 02 Oct 2011  13:54:36   Rx-Noise=7.0   Tx-Noise=13.0   Rx-Sync=3008   Tx-Sync=448
Sun 02 Oct 2011  13:54:58   Rx-Noise=0.0   Tx-Noise=10.0   Rx-Sync=   Tx-Sync=
Sun 02 Oct 2011  13:55:15   Rx-Noise=0.0   Tx-Noise=0.0   Rx-Sync=   Tx-Sync=
Sun 02 Oct 2011  13:55:36   Rx-Noise=0.0   Tx-Noise=60.0   Rx-Sync=   Tx-Sync=
Sun 02 Oct 2011  13:56:12   Rx-Noise=0.0   Tx-Noise=0.0   Rx-Sync=   Tx-Sync=3
Sun 02 Oct 2011  13:56:19   Rx-Noise=6.0   Tx-Noise=6.0   Rx-Sync=3040   Tx-Sync=416
Sun 02 Oct 2011  13:56:37   Rx-Noise=6.0   Tx-Noise=6.0   Rx-Sync=3040   Tx-Sync=416

It also shows similar for the other times of lost sync

Something else of note is that I see the upstream sync rate is significantly lower than it used to be.
It was usually 448kbps or similar but now its mostly 128kbps. Not sure why that is  ???

Hi
there seems to be an awful lot more going on than can be seen on the graphs :(
what does the log show for Good quiet periods ?

wonder if that may be a clue ?

is that shown in the log ,your sample shows 446 ?

Hi
Makes me wonder if its related to your upstream .The day that it was" fixed " your upstream dropped to 288 now 128 . The odd thing is that The US noise margin has also dropped 13,6,5. Normally if there was no extra noise then the SNR margin should increase with a lower synch rate .  The US noise margin seems to be unstable .Can you set up RS to graph the US Synch rate  and the US SNR margin .Can you keep an eye on US attenuation.

Regards Jeff
128 and 288 look suspiciously like some capping ? Never heard of it BUT ?
