My query re: antivirus was not to suggest an infected system, some AV/Malware systems scan files both when opening and writing, this can slow Explorer down. If I run Avast set to check this way Explorer is very slow, I only allow scan on writing files.
If you want to use another uninstaller why not try the one supplied with CCleaner, that does the job safely. As TD says playing with the registry is not something to do without some thought which is exactly why Revo asks you if you are sure yu want to remove entries, they just could be shared nodes and removing them can cause havoc.
