It's as if I'd sat on the bacon slicer!
« on: August 06, 2011, 04:44:00 PM »

Disaster! :'(
My Canon MP540 multi-function is playing SBs, so I thought to un/reinstall.
I can neither find.exe file(s) on the HDD nor the original installation disk.

No idea what to do next, that is if anything is possible! :-\

Check the Canon website to see if you can download the relevant file(s), perhaps? :-\

Thanks, guys :drink: all round! :)

I am having trouble with  Canon Inkjet Printer Driver Add-On Module. Even though I can  print and scan, setup fails, as the printer cannot be found, ( see att.). Te description says the module is compatible with Win7 64bit.

Is it an essential? Any ideas what to do?

Hmm . . . A system running Redmond 'Doze. I don't think I can be any further help to you, unfortunately.

(I like that Redmond-based company's products as much as I like rats -- not. )

Redmond??????

Redmond..........home and headquarters of Microsoft.

The driver add on module.. This software is a module that expands the functionality of the printer driver for Canon Inkjet printers.
By installing this software, you can use the printer driver to set up compensation and processing functions for image data such as photographs.

How did you install the software? you should do it as if this were the first time installation.........meaning that it should be done whilst the printer itself is not connected to the PC.
Maybe an idea to try again. Uninstall software..disconnect printer...install software...reconnect printer.

Hi Tuftedduck!

Having done my daily ablutions and Sunday oblations, I had another go with the printer powered off and the usb pulled from the printer, still with no luck.

I'm now getting slightly confused, as the dialog box says printer and computer should be connected. Have I read you incorrectly, may be that the total sequence of my efforts is wrong; that the addon has to be first in the sequence of installs before anything else?

Come on, guys........let's shown some consideration for renluop's problem and avoid dragging the thread off topic.

@ renluop.....I am running out of ideas  :-[ .......I take it that you did follow the suggestion in the error report and install with your AV defenses disabled, and if that did not work, can you try in safe mode ?

Your point has been noted TD and my comment/s have been removed

Perhaps if posters would stick to what the OP has asked originally.........

I have followed Uncle's lead and removed my original third post in this thread. My first and second posts are relevant to the topic. The first was to make the only suggestion that came to my mind, whilst the second was to acknowledge the thanks given and say that I am unable to help any further. :-X

Hey guys, gals, and household pets who post here! ;D

As long as you don't call me fish-face, demented old s.., or otherwise personally attack me, a little bit of off- topicality and maybe humour, I very much enjoy. :drink:

@ TD Safe mode did not work either.
I was installing anomwin200ea24.exe, which is what I got from Canon's MP540 site.
Somewhat in desperation I did a search and came across anomwin110ea23.exe

It is Win7 compatible and although not listed for my printer , it is for both lower and higher MP series numbers. That one installs with no bother.

I hope that'll not be a way to further trouble!
