BTw Spreadsheet FTTC: PCP to Post Code
« on: July 18, 2011, 04:28:33 PM »

Unless I'm related to that Old Blind Cowboy, I have n't seen, this procured via Think BB, mentioned here.

I think I understand most, the exception being the uplift figure. Ideas what it means?

It's a value for "marketing" use. If the average broadband download speed is "N" in that particular postcode area, then it is "predicted" that when FTTC is deployed, the download speed "may" be "uplift x N".

Interesting: for my postcode current est is 3 to 7MB/sec and uplift 5.41. A while ago the est was 12.x for my address and thencurrent profile 5.5 ( now 6.5).

All seems a bit finger in the air.

Hi Renluop,

The uplift figure is wishful thinking! You will probably find that all postcodes on a particular PCP have the same uplift. In our case with D side lines from a few metres up to nearly 4 km it is clearly preposterous!

Kind regards,
Walter

I'd thought that too, and maybe the speed fall off would be greater per metre than ADSL2+. Making enquiries on known local numbers seems to indicate that to me .
